Margaret Winikates is a writer and museum professional from Boston and Northampton, MA. She writes poetry and fiction as well as Brain Popcorn, a blog on interdisciplinary education. Five years working at the Peabody Essex Museum reinforced the ways nature and art inspire her writing, and she's thrilled to be leading programming at the Poetry Fest for the sixth year running. She has poems published on Window Cat Press, essays at UK literary journal, all the sins, and short fiction on PEM's Connected and Zetetic: A Record of Unusual Inquiry. Last spring, her futurist vision of museum education won an honorable mention from the Center for the Future of Museums fiction contest.
